Enpass is a cross-platform password manager that runs on almost all major desktop and smartphone platforms like Mac, Windows, Android, iOS, Blackberry, and Linux. As an option, you can synchronize on all these devices using your own reliable cloud accounts in a very secure way. Its strength is its ability to make your login information available to you no matter where you are or what type of device you are using.
Your passwords will be secured by a 256 bit AES encryption method of military quality by your master password using the SQL encryption engine. Your data is secure offline and can be used anywhere. You can easily add any information into your secure safe through a wide range of templates using strong passwords.
In this article, I will explain how to install Enpass on our 64-bit popular OS distribution. Let’s go through the steps taken to install these applications on our desktops.
Installing Enpass on Ubuntu 16
First, we need to activate the Enpass repository for our Ubuntu distribution and import the Enpass key to sign our version. I am installing Enpass on my 64-bit Ubuntu 16 system. See the steps to install this:
1. Added the new Enpass repository to the list of APT sources.
# echo "deb http://repo.sinew.in/ stable main" > \ > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/enpass.list # cat /etc/apt/sources.list.d/enpass.list deb http://repo.sinew.in/ stable main
2. Importing the Enpass Repository license key to sign the release
# wget -O - https://dl.sinew.in/keys/enpass-linux.key | apt-key add - --2017-07-13 14:52:39-- https://dl.sinew.in/keys/enpass-linux.key
3. Updating the APT repository with the new update and installing our Enpass password Manager software from the Repo
# apt-get update # apt-get install enpass
4. After the Enpass installation, you can search the Enpass Icon from your Ubuntu Desktop. On accessing your Enpass Icon you’ll be directed to the Enpass Setup page.
Now you can go ahead/move forward to choose the option “I am a new Enpass user” to continue. This will direct you to a page to setup your master password.
Once you setup your Master password, you‘re ready to get started with the Enpass PasswordManager. You just remember your master password and Enpass will do rest of the tasks for you.
