Are Wireless Networks Taking Over?
The quick rise in popularity of wireless networks determined a quick decrease in equipment process that coincides with an accentuated enhancement of their technical performances. A wireless network can be completed today with expenses that are mush lower that the ones associated to a regular wired network. This is why we can foresee the rapid and cheap internet access of all members of a local community, with all benefits that come from this.
The access to global information constitutes a rich source of wealth at a global scale, by raising work productivity that is based on the access to all information available around the world regarding the respective company activity. At the same time, the wireless network becomes more valuable as various different people connect to it. Communities that are internet connected have access to a worldwide market where more and more transactions are made at network speed.
At the same time, the internet access allows people to discuss their problems, their politics and any other topic they might be interested of in ways which the telephone or television can not provide. Even without internet access, communities that are linked through wireless networks can enjoy various advantages: they can collaborate on different projects with geographical coverage using vocal communications, e-mails and data transitions with very low costs. Ultimately, people understand that these networks are made so that they can reach each other easier.
The importance of a wireless network in an office or even at home has become crucial. Because everyone can gain access to such technology, there is no point in turning back to wired networks. And since many people are using laptops to provide their computer needs, it would be quite strange to wire them to a network since they are made to be portable. Since a laptop can be used in an alley or park, people feel the increased need of accessing the internet in various locations, so a wireless network is also necessary.
The only problem that is worrying about wireless networks is that they are not as secure as the wired ones. Even if all firewalls and windows updates, if one does not secure the network properly, various people can gain access and then enter the confidential files on that computer. It’s just like leave a door open in a house, without warning intruders that there is a private property. Common sense would make a civilized person not enter, but not all people are like that and many will take advantage of the nativity of others.
The globalization of wireless network has become obvious with the massive success of the cell phones, which also function on wireless principles. Since then, wireless network are very often used and growing faster by the day.
